Third Annual Pancreatic Cancer Walk



On September 24th2011,  ParamCARE Foundation supported the 3rd Annual Pancreatic Cancer Walk held at Roosevelt park in Edison, NJ

Middlesex County Office of Public Health in association with The Cancer Institute of NJ and ParamCARE Foundation held a Pancreatic Cancer Walk, “Walk with Us to Find a Cure” event on Saturday, September 24th 2011 9:00 am- 11:30 am at 151 Parsonage Road, Edison, NJ 08818. Despite the rain, supporters of this event participated with full enthusiasm for a noble cause.

Present at this event was honorable Mayor of Edison: Mr. Antonia Ricigliano, Acting Director of Middlesex County Office of Public Health: Katherine Antonitis, Chairperson from Committee of Public Health and Education: Carol Barrett Bellante, ParamCARE Foundation team and several supporters from the community.

ParamCARE Foundation team provided healthy refreshments at the event. ParamCARE team was present to support this event benefiting the health of our community. ParamCARE strives on the principle that a healthy body is one where there is physical, mental and social wellness. Therefore, an effort was made to inspire the community on being physically active, socially connected and mentally blissful. At the Pancreatic Cancer Walk we received great response on our effort to uplift the community’s quality of life through education.

School children from Middlesex County were also in attendance. Numbered tokens were provided to all participants; Mayor Ricigliano selected a bumper prize which was awarded to Dr. Padma Arvind, Public Health Planner at Middlesex County Public Health Department. The event was held to raise awareness on Pancreatic Cancer in the community. The proceedings collected in this event went to benefit Pancreatic Cancer research at The Cancer Institute of New Jersey.
