November 20, 2011 ParamCARE Foundation provided free articles on Healthy Living at a Fundraiser event ‘ Shop till you drop’ to support Coalition for Healthy communities.
Coalition for Healthy Communities works on the mission to strengthen the community and reduce substance abuse among youth in Middlesex County. The following Initiatives have been undertaken by this coalition; Young Women’s conference, Prescription Drug Abuse Task Force, Youth Committee, 3D PSA Contest, Community Outreach, Childhood Drinking Coalition, Peer Intervention, Community Education & Community Needs/Resource Assessment.
To support this organization several vendors were in attendance; Arbonne International, a company that provides safe cosmetic products to avoid harmful chemicals for our bodies as well as for the betterment of environment. Jewelry vendors such as Lia Sophia (portion of sales go to Breast cancer foundation), Beaded Lanyards, Handcrafted Jewelry, Premier Designs Jewelry were present. Several home based businesses also received great response at this event, such as Charming Book Clips, Coastal Décor, Fleece Buddies, Freedom feathers, Happy face gifts, Scentsy Home Fragrances etc.
This event was a great success because several home based small business owners who belong to the community were in attendance. People from the community got together to support a community health organization and there was a desire to help each other. This in turn resulted into a successful fundraiser.
People from the community were delighted to obtain free articles on Prevention of diseases through Nutrition and Yoga, Healthy living guidelines, Cancer Screening informative materials, Maintenance of physical, mental as well as social health etc. from ParamCARE Foundation.
